Jen and Josh have spent their
careers working in opera, but they
are anything but stereotypical divas.
Having met at the Guildhall
School of Music & Drama nearly
20 years ago, they have sung
together professionally many
times throughout their careers.
At the heart of DIVA DIVO is a
friendship that has spanned those
two decades.
Audiences enjoy their natural
humour and enjoy the stories from
throughout their careers. Jen and
Josh bounce off each other, giving
audiences the context to enjoy the
music without feeling they need to
know anything about opera.
When it comes to the singing,
audiences are getting the real deal.
Both Jen and Josh continue to enjoy
successful independent careers as
professional opera singers.
DIVA DIVO combines that genuine
operatic experience and a love of
entertaining.
They are experienced guest entertainers, having performed for guests with major cruisliners including; Saga, Oceania, Regent, Seven Seas, Cunard & Princess.
Joshua
Multi-award-winning Welsh tenor Joshua Owen Mills trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and is an alumnus of the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich, and the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Jerwood Young Artist Programme. Since beginning his professional career in 2015, Josh has performed internationally with companies including Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera, Garsington Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein,
Staatsoper Hannover and Aalto
Musiktheater Essen.
Energetic, engaging and down-to-
earth, Josh loves using humour and
stories from his career to take some
of the mystery out of opera. For him,
one of the best reactions is hearing
from someone who arrived
convinced opera wasn't for them
and left having completely changed
their mind.
JEN
Award-winning British soprano Jennifer Witton trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where she won the prestigious Gold Medal. Jen began her professional career at Glyndebourne and has since worked with The Royal Opera House, Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, Longborough Festival Opera and The Royal Shakespeare Company.
Bubbly, energetic and warm stage
personality, Jen has a natural ability
to tell stories through song, making
opera feel accessible to all.
She loves seeing audiences realise
that they already know far more of
the music than they expected.
For Jen, there are no rules about
how to enjoy opera. Smile, respond,
sing along and enjoy the music.
